Jane is an artist and educator with experience teaching artists as young as 3 and as seasoned as 83, at nonprofit programs, private programs, and charter schools. Jane grew up in New York City where she frequented museums with her father, who is an illustrator, and has cultivated a lifelong love of learning. She received her BFA from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in drawing and painting and her MFA from ArtCenter College of Design.
From 2019-2020, Jane was an artist in residence at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, and in 2020 she was awarded a Visual Arts Fellowship by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. Following her graduate studies at ArtCenter, Jane was Aaron Curry’s studio assistant for two years before returning to work in art education.
Jane carries her passion for material play and experimentation from her studio into workshops and classes. In the classroom, she encourages curiosity, wonder and experimentation.
